Very good meeting yesterday, to recap some of the decisions made and topics discussed:
--We want to build a competitive bot this year and continue the tradition of developing a chairman's award presentation
--Students would like some general training in all areas so we have some information distributed to everyone on all aspects of how the bot works. Area leaders will be asked to prepare demonstration/workshops and these will be scheduled
--FLL tournament will be November 6th
--Finances are OK for the start of a year, but fundraising needs to start soon
--Developing written procedures will be a focus for the year
--Grace would like to weld the frame this year, this is new for us. To get ready she will design and weld a chromoly frame this fall
--No takers on preparing the documents for the AAS conference this year. Unless someone steps forward we won't be attending this year
--Next week is informational meeting for new members, I will provide some food and a general overview of the program, area leaders should be prepared to talk about and demo their areas
--Labview will continue to be the programming language of choice for 2010-11
Next Event

Who are the Shazbots?
We are the MO-HI Shazbots robotics team from Louisville, Colorado. We design and build a robot from scratch for a specific task at the FIRST Robotics competition in only six short weeks! We learn firsthand from professionals in engineering careers about things like engineering, programming, business, and everything else that comes with building 120lbs, six-foot tall robot. At the competition in April, we compete with gracious professionalism against teams from all around the country in many different fields including the robot performance, and design, as well as other aspects of engineering such as business, project management, outreach to the community, and even web design. Did I mention we are only high school students?
